<p>‘소액결제 현금화 사업은 불법이다. 정보통신망법은 ‘통신과금서비스이용자로 하여금 통신과금서비스에 의하여 재화등을 구매·사용되도록 한 후 이용자가 구매·사용한 재화등을 할인해 매입하는 행위에 ‘5년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만원 이하의 벌금에 처하도록 규정하고 있을 것입니다.</p>

이은희 인하대 소비자학과 교수는 “구글 같은 글로벌 온/오프라인 사업자도 수입에만 신경쓰지, 문제가 발생했을 때 무난한 대처를 하지 않는 경우가 적지 않다”면서 “구글 소액결제 사례가 불어나고 있습니다면 구글이 가장 먼저 할 일은 이런 일이 또 생성하지 않게 조치를 취하는 것”이라고 전했다.
